Community Information—Healthcare

All county residents have quick access to one of four hospitals located in surrounding counties:

• Maria Parham Medical Center in Vance County
• Franklin Regional Medical Center in Franklin County
• Halifax Regional Medical Center in Halifax County
• Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill, VA.

In addition, the world famous medical centers of Duke University Medical Center, UNC Health Care, Rex Healthcare, and Wake Medical are within an hour’s drive.

A variety of physicians and dentists maintain private practices in Warren County.

The Warren Health Institute, located in Warrenton, houses the Warren County health Department, Warren Wellness Center, Warren Home Health Agency and WIC Program. Acting as a center for health activity for persons of all ages in the community, the Health institute offers a variety of services to promote health, prevent disease and treat illness.

The Vance-Warren Comprehensive Health Plan, Inc., operates HealthCO, a regional medical clinic located in Manson, just off US-1. Physicians specializing in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Dentistry, and Internal Medicine maintain regular hours at this facility. In addition, a pharmacy is located on the premises.

Ambulance Service

Warren County Emergency Medical Service provides 24-hour a day ambulance service for most of the county, and the Warren County Rescue Squad responds to calls from Lake Gaston residents.
